12. OLR - Rules Governing Car Contact: A: Racing is a No-Contact Sport. The old adage ‘Rubbing is Racing’ will not be tolerated. o Nudging or Moving another car off their race line is Strictly Prohibited. o Pushing another car Off-Track is Strictly Prohibited. o Leaning on another car is Strictly Prohibited. Contact and Collisions must be avoided, at all costs. o If this means turning your car into a wall or off the track to avoid contact, then that’s what you are expected to do. B: The car ahead of you, as the Right-Of-Way, and is free to choose their race-line without any contact. The leading car has the responsibilities of; The leading driver must not do any malicious or inappropriate braking or slowing. The leading car Must Not 'brake check' the car(s) behind them, for any reason. The leading car is entitled to be slower or use longer & earlier braking zones than others. The leading car entitled to turn in earlier or later and/or apex earlier or later. The leading driver should not make a drastic or sudden change to their line through a turn. C: It’s the responsibility to every driver to maintain control of their car. It is the responsibility of the car behind, to make passes cleanly & safely – Without Contact. It’s the responsibility of car behind to avoid contact with other cars. D: Some contact may be deemed "Incidental" should it not appear to affect the likely outcome of the section in question. There are only a couple of situations where this rules does not apply. The Race Stewards reserve the right to enforce the rule to fit the situation, as needed.
