TT SIM RACING ORL
16. OLR - Defensive Driving: A: The leading car (the defending car) has the right to choose their line down the straight. The defending car may change their racing line once while driving down a straight (Move from the outside line to the inside, or vice versa). As the defending car approaches the corner, they may return to the racing line of their choice, providing it’s safe to do so. B: The defending driver not allowed to change their line in direct response to the attacking driver changing their line to make a pass on the defending. This is considered ‘Blocking’. C: The defending driver is not allowed to ‘Squeeze’ another car ‘off-track or into a barrier. This is considered ‘Blocking’. D: The defending driver has the right to take their line of choice through corners. The defending driver may take a defensive line around the inside of a corner to protect their position, thereby forcing an attacking driver to try to pass around the outside. o This is not blocking and is considered normal racing etiquette. The defending driver may NOT change their line mid-corner in an attempt to block a fellow competitor. E: Blocking is 100% forbidden!! A defender is only allowed to make 1 move across the track to break slipstream and then allowed to make 1 move into the corner to defend the line they want. A defender cannot make a move mid-corner to cut-off the nose of another car that is an illegal defense and falls under blocking which not allowed. A defender must allow a minimum of a full car width for racing room on track for any corner. o Any less than that and you’re potentially forcing the attacking driver ’Off-Track.’ This may draw a 2nd penalty. Track limits are the white line on the edges of the track surface. o See Section ‘Track Boundaries’ for more information.
