10. OLR - Racing Etiquette:
A:
All drivers are required to exhibit common courtesy for their fellow drivers during any race.
Violations include, but are not limited to:
•
Intentionally driving in a manner that requires a driver to make evasive maneuvers.
•
Brake Checking
•
Blocking
•
Unsafe Track Re-Entry
•
Making contact with another car
o
Leaning on another car through a turn
o
Shoving or Punting
•
Driving Slowly (considerably slower than ‘Race Pace’)
•
Stopping on-track.
•
Intentional Stunts
o
Drifting
o
Skidding or Spinning across the finish line.
o
Crashing
•
Intentionally doing anything to Draw a Yellow Flag.
•
Intentionally driving slowly while on the Race Line.
B:
Drivers heading to the Pits (‘In-Lap Traffic’) are expected to:
•
Drivers might be required to signal their intention to Pit (based on the track).
•
Drivers are to stay within the solid white limit lines for Pit-Entry.
C:
Drivers leaving the Pits (‘Out-Lap Traffic’) are expected to:
•
Stay within the solid white limit lines, until the lines become broken.
•
If there is ‘Hot-Lap Traffic’ near-by, the ‘Out-Lap Car’ (car leaving the pits) is required to stay on their side of the track until the next turn
(depending on the track).
o
Example: Pit Row is on Driver’s Right, the ‘Out-Lap Car’ (car leaving the pits)
is expected to stay to the Right-side of the track until after the next turn.
D:
Drivers, who stay out on track (‘Hot-Lap Traffic’) who encounter cars head into the Pits (‘In-Lap Traffic’), will be expected to;
•
Stay on the race line.
•
Give needed room to ‘In-Lap Traffic’ cars.
o
‘In-Lap Traffic’ cars might be moving slower due to;
Tires – worn or wasted tires
Fuel – extremely low fuel -or- No Fuel
Damage – to aero suspension or engine
E:
‘Hot-Lap Traffic’ who are approaching ‘Out-Lap Traffic’ (cars leaving the Pits) are expected to;
•
Stay on the race line.
•
Stay on their side of the track until the next turn (depending on the track).
o
Example: Pit Row is on Driver’s Right, ‘Hot-Lap Traffic’ is expected to stay to
the Left-side of the track until after the next turn.
