TT SIM RACING ORL
14. OLR - Corner Rights:
A:
The leading car has ‘Corner Rights’ to any given turn.
B:
As a trailing car, you must establish the sufficient overlap with the leading car before the leading car reaches the corner’s turn-in point to have any
right to the corner and expect the leading car to leave racing room for you.
•
The nose of the trailing car should be up to the rear wheel of the leading car.
C:
Without the required overlap, the leading driver has the right to be fully committed to the racing line of their choice.
D:
The leading driver must not abruptly change their line through a corner for any reason.
E:
If sufficient overlap is established before the turn-in point, both drivers have the right to the corner as are required to give racing room to each other.
•
Each driver has a right to their ‘respective line’ (their side of the track) right up to the exit point.
•
Neither driver should squeeze the other toward the inside or outside of the corner during the apex or exit.
F:
The ‘Turn-in’ point is the point at which the leading car begins their turn into the corner, on their chosen line.
G:
If the leading driver has clearly made an error to warrant a pass, the trailing driver may attack their position, with due caution and care, regardless of
whether there was any pre-existing overlap.
•
The overtaking driver must still avoid contact.
H:
Small errors by the leading driver may not necessarily justify a passing move.
•
The leading driver getting a bit out of shape at times doesn’t give the trailing driver an automatic right to force a pass.
•
The trailing driver still has the responsibility to make a pass safely and without contact.
•
The leading driver must NOT make any sudden changes to their line in an attempt to defend their position in this situation.
I:
Drivers are expected to be aware of their surroundings on track, at all times.
J:
Drivers are highly encouraged to use the In-Game Radar System.
